If there is an intersection where happily simple meets unfortunate circumstance, Walt would be standing smack dab on the middle of that X. Born and raised in Northern Minnesota, Walt's drug and alcohol abuse started on his 13th birthday, the same day his Aunt Beverly was killed after surviving a plane crash and heroically rushed back into the wreckage to save the other passengers. The following 43 years would be enough to crack any man. From his father murdering two men in a jealous gunfight to finding his girlfriend deceased in her living room. Walt's is a story of addiction, adoption, death, divorce and poverty. Yet, through it all, you'd never meet a gentler, kinder, happier soul than that of my dad.
